Is this poster for the upcoming Three Stooges movie a hilarious meta joke about wrongness, or was the marketing team actually stupid enough to make the tagline a parody of “Just Say No” while making the image a parody of “Just Do It?” Can it possibly be smart enough to be a self-aware joke? Can it possibly be dumb enough not to realize it makes no sense?
I’m going to spend the rest of my day researching this.
I actually designed this poster for Fox, and CollegeHumor’s Dan Gurewitch is right; that’s a confusing, stupid, and misleading poster. In my defense, it wasn’t my decision to go with that poster. My first choice is below.
I was on the original team for this campaign, too. I got pretty fired almost immediately after my pitch:
